On July 9 2015, we heard Maureen O’Connor’s story on TVA news<\/a> (French only) who’s life was saved by clinical research. A 2,6cm aneurysm that could have ruptured at any moment and give only 30 seconds to live to the woman was detected by the study’s MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). This story that made the news is not an isolated case. A lot of people participate in clinical trials in order to benefit from the tight medical monitoring and advanced diagnostics tests such as an MRI. These tests are free of charge for the participants and sometimes lead to the discovery of a life threatening disease that can be treated before being fatal.
