Clinical study on obesity or overweight
Diex Recherche is conducting a clinical study of an investigational drug in tablet form. This study is for people with a BMI of 25 kg/m² or higher, according to two profiles: with type 2 diabetes, or without type 2 diabetes but with at least one weight-related health condition.
The situation
Overweight and obesity are medical conditions that may be associated with other health problems, such as high blood pressure, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular disease, or sleep apnea.
Clinical research helps evaluate new approaches and better understand which types of participants may match a given study.
Study objective
This study aims to evaluate an investigational drug in tablet form in people living with obesity or overweight. The study includes two parts, depending on whether or not the participant has type 2 diabetes.
Eligibility is always confirmed by the research team according to the full protocol criteria.
The two parts of the study
- Part 1: people with either a BMI of 30 kg/m² or higher, or a BMI of 25 kg/m² or higher, without type 2 diabetes, and with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, prediabetes, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular disease, or obstructive sleep apnea.
- Part 2: people with a BMI of 25 kg/m² or higher and living with type 2 diabetes.
- For both parts: weight must be stable for 90 days before the screening visit.

Eligibility and voluntary participation
Your participation in this research is entirely voluntary. You may ask questions, take time to think, and decide whether you wish to continue the process.
To be potentially eligible, you must notably:
- Have a BMI of 25 kg/m² or higher.
- Match Part 1 or Part 2 of the study.
- Have had stable weight during the 90 days before the screening visit.
- Meet the other study criteria, which will be verified by the research team.
What your participation includes
Specialized medical follow-up: You will receive study-related assessments and regular follow-up supervised by experienced health care professionals.
Compensation: You may receive financial compensation for your participation and travel.
No hidden costs: The visits, assessments, investigational drug, and follow-up required by the protocol are provided at no cost.

Explanation

Meeting
Step 2 | After the initial phone interview, if you are still interested in taking part in a study, we schedule a preliminary meeting with you during which you may ask all the questions you wish and take the time you require to read over the consent form. Decision
Step 3 | You may make a decision at that time to move forward with or terminate the selection process. However, you are under no obligation to make an immediate decision. Based on briefing content, you may take the time necessary to come to a decision and consult with your personal physician or loved ones.
Tests
Step 4 | Depending on the nature of the study, some tests or medical examinations may be required. In the majority of cases, these tests or examinations are conducted on Diex Research premises based on your individual availability.
